and families. Information can be found at www.semperfifund.org.
The Colonel Ripley Memorial Fuel 4 Life Race was created to celebrate the life and
career of one of our nation’s most distinguished Marines. Col. John W. Ripley, USMC
(ret.), a 1962 graduate from the U.S. Naval Academy, earned the Navy Cross in 1972
for his heroics in Vietnam. The story of “Ripley at the Bridge” is legendary in the
Marine Corps and is captured in a diorama at the U.S. Naval Academy.
This race is a great event for all ages and we anticipate a
large showing from the local community and regional military
personnel. Since its completion in 1959, Navy-Marine Corps
Memorial Stadium continues to represent a rich tradition
of heroes that have sacrificed their lives for our country. It
proudly displays all battles/wars/conflicts where the United
States has been involved. It is the perfect venue to host an
event dedicated to supporting our wounded veterans
and their families.
